A Serendipitous Encounter (2/25/26
While I was Googling the title We Ran Away to Sea, I came across an Instagram post in which a mother was asking her daughter about her new Christmas present: that book. It is a rather hilarious discussion. We later followed up on some of this family’s adventures. They crossed the Atlantic, much as Pam and Kent did, but in a spacious catamaran motor yacht. Book Discussion Guidelines Created 2/27/26
We finally have book discussion suggestions for We Ran Away to Sea! We hope this will entice some book clubs, large or small, to consider choosing this book for one of their discussions. ( I had a hard time finding a copyright-free photo of a book discussion. Perhaps one of you can send us one?)
Mailerlite Newsletter launched at last on February 11, 2026!
After years of sending newsletters via MailChimp, we are taking a leap into MailerLite and finally getting a new email address that matches our domain name. So, watch for new emails coming in February from jacana@jacanapress.com.
If you’ve ever gone through the process of closing one internet account and starting another, you know it is not as easy. I spent a full week trying to authenticate our email with Mailerlite. I actually contracted to pay someone to help, but… finally, with assistance from Mailerlite, Titan email, and WordPress.com, I got the settings right. The next challenge is to write that first email! Stay tuned!
